Incisively fruity and long on ripe apples with a well-tailored trim of toasty oak in fine counterpoint, Acacia’s Sangiacomo bottling is a deep and yet refined working that shows plenty of richness and substance while remaining exceptionally well-balanced. It is at once both firm and fairly full-bodied, and its combination of keen structure and impressive depth marks it as a Chardonnay destined for better cellaring, but only if its considerable near-term appeals can be resisted. $40. 484 cases.
