The 2017 Chardonnay Home Ranch comes from old Wente clone vines and was harvested September 4. It was barrel fermented and aged 15 months in 25% new French oak. It’s youthfully shy on the nose, very slowly giving up notions of nectarine, peach, dried leaves, lime peel and a streak of petrichor-like minerality plus touches of cream and flowers. It’s medium-bodied and intense with youthfully latent layers peeking through, silky textured and with mouthwatering acidity on the long, mineral-driven finish. 84 cases were made.recommended. $65
